What is Information and Communication technology?

ICT refers to the convergence of audiovisual and telephone networks with computer networks over a single cabling system or link. There are strong economic incentives to merge  telephone networks with the computer network system through a single unified system of cabling,  distribution, and signal management. ICT is a general term that encompasses all communication devices, including radio, television, mobile phones, computer and network hardware, satellite systems, etc., as well as the various services and devices that accompany them, such as Video conferencing and distance learning. ICT also includes analog technology, such as Communication on paper, and all forms that mediate communication.



What is the Impact of information and communication technology in education?



ICT is an essential means to perform a significant task in modifying and modernizing current education systems and learning methods. Technology that helps to gain access to information, This technology includes products that recover, store, receive, or process information in a digitized format. This technology targets the aspect of communication that includes wireless networks, the Internet, and various other forms of communication systems. ICT in education is broadly classified in the form of a tool that helps in computer-aided learning, research, and presentation.

ICT serves as a management tool that helps manage information systems. ICT not only has a major impact on education, schools, and professionals. When it comes to education, the goal of ICT is to acquaint teachers and students with the right to use computers for their operation, and ethical and social issues. It is also believed that ICT empowers both teachers and students. It changes not only the way of teaching but also the entire learning process.
This transformation results in maximizing learning outcomes that help students increase their creativity, communication, and analytical skills. Although ICT is very useful for society as a whole, they are considered to be more beneficial for university students. An ICT-rich learning experience helps students to develop their ICT skills. With the necessary hardware and software provided to the students, they can access all the necessary ICT skills. This is how the implementation of ICT makes an educational institution intelligent and progressive.
